Comfort Market at 116 West Branch Street, Arroyo Grande, California.

I used to love dining at Comfort Market, but the service and quality has been declining for the past two years. The menu includes a wide variety of options, and the food is well-prepared. I arrived around 10:00 on a Sunday morning, hungry after exercising. The waitress met me at the order-and-pay station, where there was a menu to peruse. I never like to tjp before getting my food, as the tip should be based on the quality of service provided. But I had to "pay to "play", so I chipped in a fairly generous tip.

I ordered an avocado toast with an egg, and asked for my egg to be cooked over easy, rather than the sunny-side up stated on the menu.That caused a bit of a stir, but the waitress entered my request. I also requested a cup of coffee, and filled a glass of water to take to my table. 10 minutes later, I was still waiting for coffee. Then the toast arrived, with the egg sunny side up, which made me gag. The toast was good but markedly smaller than the last time I was in. My coffee arrived at the end of my meal.

The only two times I saw the waitress after sitting down was when the food was delivered and then the coffee.

I will no longer frequent the Comfort Market.
